You Tell Me...

Over the weekend the fam and I were discussing the possibility of moving to Hawaii. Yes, I'm serious. The idea kind of came up out of nowhere, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea.

I've heard that life on the islands moves slower. The weather is beautiful. And contrary to popular belief, it's not that much more expensive than living here (in like L.A.).  I could work at the UOH (University of Hawaii); I work at a university now. :-) I even found a job posting there over the weekend that's EXACTLY like mine right now.

Ah...I can picture it now.

It'd be a big jump, but one that me and fam are seriously considering. After my daughter goes to college of course (and we totally gave her the option of coming with us and going to UOH).  We'd pack up the house, the dogs, and even the horse to move to greener pastures!

Right now it's just a dream. And we writers (and readers) have lots of dreams.

So tell me...what's your dream? (And if you're a writer, make it NOT about writing! Tough, I know!)

I'm sure it wouldn't be any more expensive than southern California. Why not?

I'm living it right now. I' live in Akumal, Mexico which is on the Rivier Maya. I built a house in the jungle. It's not as scary as I make my blog posts about. The critters usually know where they belong. For those who don't, I've sprayed. As the saying goes, tomorrow is promised to no one. Get to your happy place as fast as you can. The only downside of Hawaii that I've been told by friends who've lived there is travel costs and time. Go for it!

GO FOR IT!! My husband and I honeymooned on Oahu and we loved it so much that we seriously thought about moving to Hawaii. But then our siblings started popping out babies left and right and we really wanted to be around to see our niephlings grow up a bit. So now we're thinking we'll spend our golden years in Hawaii. Good luck with whatever you decide!!

I guess outside of writing amazing stories, I dream of having enough time to do it all: love, live, & laugh in abundance. :)

And YECK YES! Living on an island would be sweet!
